AVERY'S JOURNEY

Believe in me

Dexter and Tatum are Avery's older brother and sister.  Dexter is 7 and Tatum is 5.  They have been dragged along to many physical/occupational and speech therapy appointments.  Often times they are asked to help before and after these appointments because I'm not able to carry Avery plus walker/gait trainer, braces and everything else.  During therapy they are asked to do the almost impossible, to not play with a new toy that is set in front of them because it is there for Avery.  But Dexter and Tatum rarely complain and actually look forward to participating in Avery's therapy appointments.   They take pride in and get genuinely excited in her accomplishments. They are truly amazing children and wonderful siblings.

A quick note about the song that you're listening to.  It's one of the kids' favorites and they all sing along with it every time they hear it.

Dexter is the best big brother anyone could ask for,  Dexter and Avery had an instant connection and he has always had a gentle touch with her.  He is Avery's guardian angel.  He watches over her throughout the day to make sure that she doesn't get hurt, to make sure she doesn't bend her leg the wrong way or try to pull up on something when no one is around to help her.  Avery loves to sit and watch Dexter play and you can just see the admiration in her eyes as she looks at her big brother.

Avery's big sister Tatum tries her hardest and wants to help Avery in every way.  Tatum actively participates in Avery's physical therapy and speech therapy sessions.  If you ask Avery's therapists, they may even say a little too actively, but Tatum just wants to encourage her baby sister.  Tatum has also given Avery a little bit of her feistiness, which is a trait that will one day come in handy.  Tatum is the greatest big sister!!
